The new EOTECH EXPS3-1 is a great option for those looking for a red dot sight with a crisp single 1 MOA dot. The combination of the QD mount, lower 1/3rd height, and extra NV settings of the EXPS series with the benefits of a smaller reticle offered by the XPS2-1 model makes for a very attractive package. The single 1 MOA dot is beneficial over the classic donut reticle for a variety of reasons. Our Pro shooters find the donut reticle too busy. The single 1 MOA dot is less likely to consume smaller targets, making it easier to aim at distance. The smaller dot can also help reduce the effect of reticle bloom, making it easier to acquire and maintain a clear sight picture, especially for those with astigmatism. The QD mount and lower 1/3rd height make it easier to quickly and securely attach and detach the optic, while also allowing for co-witnessing with iron sights. The extra NV settings can be especially useful for those who need to use the optic in low-light conditions.
