I have the +1 base pads for both of my G42 and G43 guns and they are phenomenal products. Simple install and they give you that extra round without adding any noticeable size. You wont be disappointed!
The pin set screws are set with Loctite® at the specific tension we recommend, and will generally never need an adjustment. Tightening the base pad screw is not recommended and may be difficult because the screw is set with Loctite®; trying to force the set screw to turn could result in stripping the screw. We do not warranty base pads for stripped heads on set screws or pins lost in result of tampering with the set screw.>

This Taran Tactical Innovations GLOCK base pad is designed for the GLOCK 42. It adds 1 extra round to the magazine and is only a 8th of an inch longer than the stock base pad. We use our patented push pin design to lock the base pad to the magazine, which makes for easy field stripping and cleaning of your magazine. Just push down the pin, slide the base pad on and push the pin up to lock it onto the magazine. Our one piece design is great because there are no extra parts or tools needed to attach the base pad to your magazine. The base pad itself is machined out of billet aluminum and is hard anodized to ensure durable long lasting color. All machining and manufacturing is done in the USA.

Swapping out the base plates were easy. I purchased the +2 which would be 8 rds total in the mag but I can only fit 7 rds in both mags. I also have the +2 for my Glock 43 and I can fit 8 rds easy in the mag. The taran tactical spring is noticeably longer for the 42 compared to the stock spring. I’m hoping for a break in period to fit 8 rds in the Glock 42 mag.
