The pin set screws are set with Loctite® at the specific tension we recommend, and will generally never need an adjustment. Tightening the base pad screw is not recommended and may be difficult because the screw is set with Loctite®; trying to force the set screw to turn could result in stripping the screw. We do not warranty base pads for stripped heads on set screws or pins lost in result of tampering with the set screw.

This Taran Tactical Innovations M&P base pad works on any full sized M&P handgun. This base pad does add a little extra weight to the magazine which helps the empty mag drop free easier for faster reloads. This M&P base pad, just like all of our base pads, is designed to give you the edge over your adversaries. We use our patented push pin design to lock the base pad to the magazine, which makes for easy field stripping and cleaning your magazines between stages. Just push down the pin, slide the base pad on and push the pin up to lock the base pad onto the magazine. Our one piece design is great because there are no extra parts or tools needed to attach the base pad to your magazine. The base pad itself is machined out of billet aluminum and is hard anodized to ensure durable long lasting color. All machining and manufacturing is done in the USA.
I went with 5/6 Red for my m/p full size 9. I can squeeze in 5 extra giving me 22. The 6th doesn’t fit or the description means one in chamber? Not sure, but regardless, mag drops great. I had a few errors with feeding, but running a few times and it hasnt happened. Love the color. I would buy again.
I bought a pair of the +2/4 pads for my M&P 2.0 5" for use in USPSA competitions. They appear to be very high quality (haven't shot with them yet), installation was simple, but I'm finding that the 21st round (9mm) is all but impossible to load. I can squeeze it in if I really press with all my might, but once in there is zero movement left in the spring, and it is impossible to insert the magazine into the pistol with the slide closed. It is still nice to have the +3 capacity, but I'm not sure I will be ordering any more - will probably try some of the competition's pads on the next go around.
Helped me add capacity to shoot a race alongside others who had truly custom firearms with higher capacity magazines. Greatest part was when I had a small problem loading as many rounds as the product description. I called Taran Tactical and very nice lady walked me through the stronger spring...load magazine halfway for a day or two, then try again. She actually told me to call them back if I had further problems. That, in itself, was impressive. I'm not a known shooter or any kind of celebrity...just a guy that not only likes to shoot...I take it very seriously. I felt like as a customer, they valued me. That's rare these days.
