The pin set screws are set with Loctite® at the specific tension we recommend, and will generally never need an adjustment. Tightening the base pad screw is not recommended and may be difficult because the screw is set with Loctite®; trying to force the set screw to turn could result in stripping the screw. We do not warranty base pads for stripped heads on set screws or pins lost in result of tampering with the set screw.

This Taran Tactical Innovations M&P base pad works on any full sized M&P handgun. This base pad does add a little extra weight to the magazine which helps the empty mag drop free easier for faster reloads. This M&P base pad, just like all of our base pads, is designed to give you the edge over your adversaries. We use our patented push pin design to lock the base pad to the magazine, which makes for easy field stripping and cleaning your magazines between stages. Just push down the pin, slide the base pad on and push the pin up to lock the base pad onto the magazine. Our one piece design is great because there are no extra parts or tools needed to attach the base pad to your magazine. The base pad itself is machined out of billet aluminum and is hard anodized to ensure durable long lasting color. All machining and manufacturing is done in the USA.

Product as described, purchased two +1/4. Seems of great quality, finish is really nice. I have a speed shooters specialties mag well and for some reason, I was unable to fully seat the mag without getting my Dremel out. The top of the extension was making contact with the mag well. Now, this could be a fluke in my case as my buddy runs the exact same setup on his and everything fit great as it should. I would recommend this product even with the issue I had. I will purchase them again.
Bought 3 of the +5/6 for my m&p recently and just ran them through a 3gun match this week. Didn’t have a bit of issue with them function wise and the gun feels better to me with the extra weight from the extensions. Only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because they were a little difficult to get to seat fully so I could install the bar that keeps the mag plates from coming off. I know they need to be tight but I had to reseat them about 2-3 addtional times to get them to secure correctly. Fit great after and I plan on transferring those mags to my new 5” m&p for next season.
