This Taran Tactical Innovations M&P Shield base pad works on any full sized M&P Shield 9mm and 40 S&W handguns. This TTI base pad does add a little extra weight to the magazine which helps the empty mag drop free easier for faster reloads. This TTI M&P base pad, just like all of our base pads, is designed to give you the edge over your adversaries. It’s a little loose on the bottom of the mag. I have tried adjusting in as much as is possible it’s just not a perfect fit. Mag doesn’t quite feed the same, a little sticky on that first round of 10. As for the gap, we have designed our M&P Shield Base Pads to not be a flush fit as overall that proved optimum functionality.
It makes a huge difference! I've always disliked the 8 round magazine because of the little extension sleeve piece. With this base pad you get a full grip that feels solid and looks cool. It does increase printing...but not enough to keep me from carrying it. Mine is capable of holding all 10rnds with one in the pipe. If TTI made them, I would run this on all my pistols
