This base pad will add 2 extra rounds in 9mm, and 1 extra round in .40 Caliber to the magazine.

This Taran Tactical Innovations M&P Shield base pad works on any full sized M&P Shield 9mm and 40 S&W handguns. This TTI base pad does add a little extra weight to the magazine which helps the empty mag drop free easier for faster reloads. This TTI M&P base pad, just like all of our base pads, is designed to give you the edge over your adversaries. The base pad is machined out of aircraft aluminum and is hard anodized to ensure durable long lasting color. All machining and manufacturing is done in the USA.

This is the second base pad I’ve bought for my shield from taran tactical, I ended up buying a second 8 round mag so I could get another one. They are very reliable and well made, I have about 1500 rounds with the base pad on with no malfunctions. Install is very easy, and the mounting plate has never come lose. The only downsides of the base pad is it’s very hard to insert a mag with the full 10 rounds with the slide forward, which isn’t a huge deal. Also it would be nice to have some sort of stippling or checkering but that’s just personal preference, just know they are pretty smooth. Overall a great base pad though.
I bought 2 of these 10 rd mags function perfectly so I bought two more and two of the extension base pads to make my 8 rd mags into 10 rd mags
