Definitely heavier
Running this in my Gen 3 G17, along with the TTI grandmaster kit. I wouldn't expect it to cure all of your shooting ills, but it is definitely heavier than the stock guide rod.
The Glock Store Tungsten Guide Rod replaces the factory plastic guide rod as a drop in part with no gunsmithing required. This guide rod weighs 400% more than the factory part and the added weight helps reduce recoil and muzzle flip. Unlike the OEM plastic part, this tungsten guide rod will not break or bend during normal firearm operation.

Really cuts down on barrel rise and quick target acquisition,(especially in .40 and .45) it has the slide running smoother and has a more solid feel. Stainless may be fine but tungsten is 50 bucks and you can't break it.
Adds the front forward balance and allowed for faster secondary shots. The only thing that I would change would be to taper the end that rests against the barrel. It is so highly polished that it is slippery when dis assembling the firearm.
